Microneedling treatment works by creating millions of fine, vertical micro-injuries in the skin with multiple microneedles of the latest technology electronic device, which triggers new collagen and elastin formation as well as increasing the local blood flow and formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). These fractional micro-channels allow the special formulated medicine cocktails (hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, vitamins, amino acids, etc.) to go deep into the skin and to target certain problems. The goal of DERMAPEN microneedling in the skin rejuvenation process is to increase the activities of fibroblast, the cells responsible for production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, and to apply full concentration of active substances necessary to regenerate healthy and youthful skin. With repeated procedures the depth of the wrinkles is reduced, the amount of collagen is increased and therefore the skin tone is improved. The result is skin rejuvenation with smoother, firmer, tighter and younger looking skin.

The therapy is a great solution for patients with problematic skin of all kinds, pigmentations, scars including acne scars, surgical scars and stretch marks.

For optimal results, it is recommended to undergo a series of 3-4 sessions at 3–4 weeks interval, depending on the skin condition and the recovery period. To sustain the results, the procedure can be repeated after 6 months.

After treatment there is a mild/moderate redness on the treated area that subsides after 12-48 hours after treatment, but most of our patients are able to return to normal daily activities a few hours after the treatment. Application of skin repair/recovery creams immediately and for a couple of days after the therapy, seals and heals the skin. The use of sunscreen protection is mandatory.

The micro-injuries trigger a natural process of repair, increasing production of collagen and elastin and visibly improving a wide range of skin concerns:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Pigmentations (melasma, age spots)
  • Dry skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Photoaging
  • Acne / acne scars
  • Post-surgical scars
  • Stretch marks
